Yes, we know Triumph’s model names may get a bit confusing. To make it simple, Speed models are the bigger and more expensive bikes while the Street variants are lower-powered and lower-priced alternatives.
According to an international source, the British motorcycle manufacturer has trademarked the name ‘Speed Twin’. This means, there will be a bigger alternative to the newly launched Street Twin. The motorcycle could be powered by the manufacturer’s 900cc twin-cylinder engine which will also be seen on the future T100.
In terms of design, the Speed Twin is expected to lose some of the retro-styling of the Street and feature some sporty design cues. The international source is going so far as to calling it a mini-Thruxton, which could mean the motorcycle could have a café-racer stance. We will have to wait and watch what exactly the British motorcycle manufacturer comes up with.
