- Triumph Rocket 3 221 Edition listed on the India website
- Gets unique livery
- No change in mechanicals or features
Triumph Motorcycles unveiled a special edition of the Rocket 3 called the 221 Edition for global markets a few days ago. Now, the manufacturer has listed it on its Indian website, suggesting that it would be launched in the country soon.
What makes this edition unique? Well, to begin with, the 221 Edition is built to celebrate the Rocket 3’s engine. This mammoth of a motor with 2458cc churns out a hefty 221Nm of torque- the highest on any production motorcycle available. Hence, the motorcycle which is offered in R and GT versions are plastered with ‘221’ on the fuel tank. To bring its ballistic specs to light, Triumph has also added ‘2458cc engine, 167PS power, 85.9mm stroke and 110.2mm bore’ on the fuel tank that has been painted in the Red Hopper shade. That said, the front mudguard brackets, flyscreen, side panels, rear section, radiator cowls, and headlamp cowls come with Sapphire Black for a nice contrast.
Besides these cosmetic changes, the Triumph Rocket 3 R and GT 221 Edition are the same as the standard models sold in India in terms of hardware, features, and electronic aids. However, we can expect this special edition, which by the way isn’t limited, to demand a slight hike over the R and GT that cost Rs 19.90 lakh and Rs 20.50 lakh respectively.
