Triumph Motorcycles has updated its Indian portfolio with the launch of the Rocket 3 GT. The new variant of the power cruiser has been priced at Rs 18.40 lakh. In comparison, the Rocket 3 R, which is already available in the Indian market, is sold at Rs 18 lakh. The bookings for the motorcycle are now open at the dealerships.
Similar to the R version, the new Rocket 3 GT uses a 2,500cc, inline three-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 165bhp of power at 6,000rpm and 221Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm.
The GT variant packs more relaxed ergonomics through the forward-set footpegs and a touring-style handlebar. The feature list also includes a taller windscreen, adjustable pillion footrests, heated grips and a pillion backrest as standard. The rest of the equipment, similar to the R variant, includes twin-LED headlamps, full-colour TFT display, a cropped rear fender, slash-cut exhausts, and a single-sided swingarm. The motorcycle is available in two colours – Silver Ice with Storm Grey and Phantom Black.
The electronics on the Rocket 3 GT include four ride modes (Road, Rain, Sport and Rider-configurable), cornering traction control system, cornering ABS, cruise control, keyless ignition and hill-hold control.
The suspension setup comprises of a fully adjustable Showa mono-shock rear suspension with piggyback reservoir and 47mm adjustable Showa front forks. The anchoring power comes from dual 320mm discs at the front and a 300mm rotor at the back.
The company will also offer over 50 accessories for the new Rocket 3 GT that range from luggage to accessories for more comfort, practicality and security.
