Triumph Motorcycles have launched their cruisers, the Thunderbird Storm and the Rocket III, at Rs 13 lakh and Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) , respectively, in India.
The 2,294cc Triumph Rocket III is the largest engine capacity motorcycle in production as of today. Figures of 145bhp and 221Nm torque propel the massive cruiser to highway speeds in a few seconds. The Rocket III competes with the likes of the Honda Valkyrie Rune and the Suzuki Intruder.
The Thunderbird Storm will come to India via the CBU route. The mighty cruiser belongs to the luxury cruiser segment challenging the likes of Harley-Davidson motorcycles and the soon-to-be launched Victory Motorcycles from USA. Its engine is unique in its class - a classic Triumph parallel twin. And the styling is pure cruiser with sweeping lines, low seat and high bars. The Thunderbird’s 1597cc parallel twin engine whips out 86PS and a thumping 146Nm of torque at just 2,750rpm. The transmission uses a six-speed gearbox with a tall top ratio for relaxed highway cruising and exceptional fuel efficiency.
