Triumph has revealed the complete accessory list for its soon-to-be-launched Scrambler 1200. Named as ‘Inspiration kit’, it has been divided into two categories namely Escape kit and Extreme kit. While the former is a set of touring-oriented accessories, the latter consists of elements suitable for off-roading. The Triumph Scrambler 1200 is the elder sibling of the Street Scrambler. It was globally unveiled in October and will be launched in India by January 2019.
Starting with the Escape kit, the accessories on offer under this category include pannier and fitting kit, knuckle guards (which come as standard on XE variant), grab rack kit, LED fog lamps, centre stand and a flyscreen. This is a dedicated kit for the XC variant of the Scrambler 1200.
Moving on, the Extreme kit is meant for the off-road-inclined XE variant and the list here is longer. This includes high front mudguard, carbon arrow silencer (homologated), aluminum radiator guard, machine oil filler cap, black handlebar brace, LED indicator, side stand base extension and stainless-steel dresser bar. To enhance the style quotient of front-end, you get grille and bezel for the headlamp.
Powering the Triumph Scrambler 1200 is a 1200cc, parallel-twin engine that generates 96bhp and 112Nm. The bikes ride on a 21-inch front and 19-inch rear wheel that are suspended by fully-adjustable Showa front forks and Ohlins rear twin shocks. Braking duties are handled by twin disc on the front and a single disc at the rear. On the electronic front, it is likely to come with essential features such as ABS, traction control and riding modes.
The Triumph Scrambler 1200 will be offered in both variants (XE and XC) in India and is expected to be priced around Rs 10 to Rs 11 lakhs. It will go against the Ducati Scrambler 1100 and the BMW R Nine T Scrambler.
