Triumph has revealed the prices for the 2019 Triumph Scrambler 1200 in the USA. While the Scrambler 1200 XC has been priced at $14,000 (Rs 9.84 lakhs), the higher-spec Scrambler 1200 XE retails at $15,400 (Rs 10.82 lakhs).
Available in two variants – XC and XE, the Scrambler 1200 features a new full-colour TFT screen, LED lamps for the headlight and other auxiliary lights, a knuckle guard and heated grips as standard equipment. The motorcycle rides on a 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels shod with dual-purpose Metzeler Tourance tyres. Suspension duties are taken care by Showa 45mm inverted forks for the front and Ohlins twin shocks for the rear; both fully-adjustable. The higher-spec XE variant gets thicker 47mm forks with 250mm of travel at both ends. The swingarm has been made slightly longer for better stability.
Powering the off-road scrambler is a 1200cc parallel-twin that churns out 88bhp and 110Nm of peak torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle comes with four ride modes- Road, Rain, Sport and Rider, while the XE gets an additional Off-road mode too.
The Scrambler 1200 is an interesting motorcycle from Triumph, set to make its debut in India by mid-2019. The motorcycle will further contribute to the brand’s heritage line-up with a more capable off-road scrambler. Once launched, expect the Scrambler 1200 to be priced around the Rs 12-13 lakhs mark, thus positioning itself between the Thruxton R and Tiger 800 XRx models.
