Triumph Motorcycles has introduced the limited-edition Scrambler 1200 Steve McQueen in the Indian market. This model will be available in a single variant, and it has been priced at Rs 13.75 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The Steve McQueen edition packs several styling upgrades over the standard model and here we bring you a detailed image gallery of the motorcycle.
The Scrambler 1200 Steve McQueen pays homage to the Triumph TR6 ridden by Steve McQueen in the movie – The Great Escape. The motorcycle will be produced in limited numbers and Triumph will only manufacture 1,000 units of the Scrambler 1200 Steve McQueen edition.
The individual numbers are visible on the billet aluminium handlebar. Buyers would get a certificate of authenticity along with the motorcycle. The certificate would come with the signatures of Triumph’s CEO, Nick Bloor and Chad McQueen – son of American Actor, Steve McQueen.
This limited-edition model gets a Competition Green colour with hand-painted gold lining and retro Triumph logos.
Other unique styling features on the motorcycle include McQueen tank graphic, a brushed aluminium Monza cap, a brown seat cover, and a stainless steel tank strap.
The feature list is similar to the standard Scrambler 1200, and the Steve McQueen edition comes equipped with full-LED lighting, Triumph MyConnectivity compatible digital instrument cluster, and tubeless-tyre compatible wire-spoke wheels.
Electronic rider aids on the motorcycle include cruise control, cornering ABS, traction control system, and six riding modes.
The mechanical specifications and the hardware, too, are similar to the standard Scrambler 1200. Thus, the Steve McQueen edition is powered by a 1,200cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that makes 89bhp at 7,250rpm and 110Nm at 4,500rpm. The motor is linked to a six-speed transmission.
The suspension setup on the motorcycle includes 47mm, fully-adjustable Showa upside-down front forks and a fully adjustable Ohlins rear mono-shock.
The anchoring duties are performed by twin 320mm discs with Brembo M50 monoblock callipers at the front and a single 255mm disc with Brembo twin-piston floating calliper at the rear.
