- Sports scrambler-inspired styling.
- Powered by 1200cc, parallel-twin engine.
- To arrive in India in January 2019.
Triumph Motorcycles is all set to unveil the 2019 Scrambler 1200 tomorrow.
With a few teaser videos and spy images, we know that the bike sports a scrambler-inspired design. It gets knuckle guards, an engine sump guard and high mounted twin exhausts that the scrambler format dictates. To boost its off-road capabilities, the bike will get longer travel suspension and is likely to ride on a 21-inch front and 19-inch rear spoke wheels shod with dual-purpose rubber. The bike also borrows a full-LED headlamp from the Bonneville Speedmaster.
Under its skin, the bike is expected to use a 1200cc, parallel-twin motor that produces 96bhp and 112Nm of torque. It is also likely to get electronic aids such as traction control and ABS. The Triumph Scrambler 1200 might be offered in two variants; base and ‘R’. While the base variant is expected to be equipped with KYB suspension and Nissin brakes, the higher-spec ‘R’ will likely get Ohlins shocks and braking hardware sourced from Brembo.
The Triumph Scrambler 1200 will take on the Ducati Scrambler 1100 and BMW R Nine T Scrambler. The British manufacturer is expected to launch the bike in India sometime in January 2019.
