- India launch in October 2023
- Pre-bookings open online
- Powered by a 398.15cc engine
Triumph Motorcycles India has confirmed that the new Scrambler 400 X will be launched in our market in October 2023. The company has listed this sub-500cc motorcycle on its India website along with its launch timeline. Notably, the Indian arm of the British marque has already launched the Speed 400 in our market at a very competitive price tag of Rs. 2.23 lakh. Thus, we also expect to see a similarly aggressive price for the Scrambler 400 X as well.
To give you a quick recap, the new Scrambler 400 X boasts a neo-retro design that includes a round headlight, a semi-digital instrument cluster, a curvy fuel tank with knee recesses, and a side-slung exhaust. Then, this off-road-biased motorcycle rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels. Meanwhile, the paint options for the Scrambler 400 X comprise three themes – Matte Khaki Green with Fusion White, Carnival Red with Phantom Black, and Phantom Black with Silver Ice.
The mechanical specifications are similar to the Speed 400, and the new Triumph Scrambler 400 X, too, uses a 398.15cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with a dual-overhead-camshaft and four valves. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, this motor makes 39.5bhp of maximum output at 8,000rpm and 37.5Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. The gearbox benefits from a slipper and assist clutch mechanism.
Then, the feature list includes full-LED lighting, a semi-digital instrument cluster, ride-by-wire throttle, a switchable traction control system, dual-channel ABS, and an anti-theft immobiliser as standard. Notably, the dual-channel ABS on the Scrambler 400 X is a switchable unit.
The pre-bookings for the new Triumph Scrambler 400 X are open on its India website.
