- Bajaj to produce 10,000 Triumph bikes by next year
- 100 showrooms to be opened in a few months
- Speed 400 is the highest-selling model
Bajaj has decided to increase the production capacity for two Triumph motorcycles – the Scrambler 400X and the Speed 400.
Currently, Bajaj can produce 5,000 units per month for the domestic and international markets. But the brand claims there has been good demand for these 400cc motorcycles. The Pune-based manufacturer is planning to double the production capacity by March 2023. As of now, the company has delivered close to 8000 units of these bikes to Indian customers. Along with increasing the production capacity, the brand is also setting up more dealerships. There are 28 Triumph showrooms in the country, and this number is likely to be increased to 100 in the next few months.
Indian market responded well to the Speed 400 as the pricing was quite aggressive. It is too early to comment on the Scrambler 400X’s success, as the pricing was revealed just a few days ago, and the deliveries are expected to commence soon. However, out of both the bikes, the Speed 400 is bound to perform the best as it’s the most affordable Triumph model and has accessible seat height between the two.
