Triumph has launched its most affordable models in the Philippines for an equivalent of Rs 4.37 lakh.
- Triumph’s 400cc motorcycles launched in Philippines
- Same as the models sold in India
- Scrambler 400 X to be launched in the country soon
Triumph Motorcycles is yet to launch the Scrambler 400 X in India. However, the motorcycle along with the Speed 400 has already made its way to the Philippines. While the Speed 400 costs an equivalent of Rs 4.37 lakh, the Scrambler 400 X costs Rs 4.95 lakh in the South East Asian country.
The Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X are built around the same frame and engine but offer different purpose. While the Speed 400 takes on a road-biased guise, the Scrambler, like its name suggests has rugged, off-road appeal. That is the reason why the Speed 400 rides on a 17-inch front alloy wheel while the Scrambler gets a 19-inch front alloy wheel. Moreover, the Speed gets Metzeler Sportec M9 RR tyres and the 400 X comes with Metzeler Karoo Street rubber.
Well, that’s not the only difference. Both motorcycles also offer different seats, suspension travel and ergonomics as well. As for engine, it uses a 398cc, single-cylinder engine that churns out 39.5bhp and 37.5Nm. The six-speed gearbox benefits from a slipper and assist clutch. As for features, the Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X comes with full-LED lighting, a semi-digital instrument cluster, ride-by-wire throttle, dual-channel ABS and switchable traction control. The Scrambler 400 X’s dual-channel ABS is a switchable unit.
