BajajTriumph started accepting bookings for the Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400 X in India immediately after the global unveiling of both motorcycles in London, UK. And within 10 days of commencing reservations, Triumph Motorcycles have received over 10,000 bookings for both motorcycles in the country.
The company recently launched the Triumph Speed 400 in India at a mouthwatering price tag of Rs. 2.33 lakh (ex-showroom). However, Triumph went one step ahead and announced that the Speed 400 is priced at Rs. 2.23 lakh for the first 10,000 customers. The extremely aggressive pricing has surely worked wonders for the company as receiving 10,000 bookings in such a short duration is no small feat.
Although Triumph only launched the Speed 400 in India, the company announced that the Triumph Scrambler 400 X will be launched in India in October 2023. Looking at the Speed 400’s pricing, we expect the Scrambler 400 X to be priced at Rs. 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
Both motorcycles are powered by a 398.15cc, liquid-cooled, four-valve motor that produces 39.5bhp at 8,000rpm and 37.5Nm at 6,500rpm. The single-cylinder engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox, which benefits from an assist and slipper clutch.
The Triumph Speed 400 competes against the Harley-Davidson X440 and the Royal Enfield Classic 350. On the other hand, the Triumph Scrambler 400 X will rival the Royal Enfield Scram 411 and the Yezdi Scrambler.
