- The earlier booking amount was set to Rs. 2,000
- Speed 400’s asking price too hiked by Rs. 10,000
- Token amount if fully refundable
Triumph India seems to have received a commendable response for the Speed 400 since its launch. The bike was earlier priced at Rs. 2.23 lakh and then the amount was revised to Rs. 2.33 lakh once the first 10,000 bikes were booked. Now, Triumph India has also hiked the booking amount from Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 10,000. That said, the amount is fully refundable and the bike still can only be booked from Triumph India’s official site.
We also expect the asking price to receive another hike in the next few months, similar to what Bajaj does with its premium products. Triumph offers the Speed 400 in three colours: Carnival Red, Caspian Blue and Phantom Black.
The Speed 400 is powered by a 398.15cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor dishing out 39.5bhp and 37.5Nm. It’s linked to a six-speed gearbox and gets a short-stroke setup. Meanwhile, the list of rider aids includes traction control and dual-channel ABS. The Speed 400 rides on USD front forks and a monoshock. Its braking hardware comprises a single front and rear disc mounted on 17-inch alloys.
The Speed 400 is still Triumph’s most affordable motorcycle. It rivals the Harley-Davidson X440, Royal Enfield Classic 350 and a few other names in this segment.
