The newly launched Triumph Speed 400 has crossed 10,000 bookings in India, thus ending the special introductory price tag of Rs. 2.23 lakh. The company had announced at the launch that this pricing was limited to the first 10,000 bookings in the country. Now, since the company has received 10,000 bookings, the new Triumph Speed 400 will be available at Rs. 2.33 lakh. For reference, its closest rival in the Indian market, the Harley-Davidson X440, is priced between Rs. 2.29 lakh and Rs. 2.69 lakh.
The new Triumph Speed 400 is the most affordable product in Triumph Motorcycles’ portfolio. This motorcycle is manufactured by Bajaj Auto in Maharashtra, India, alongside the Scrambler 400 X. The Speed 400 boasts a neo-retro design that draws styling cues from bigger-displacement Triumph products such as the Speed Twin. The colour choices include three options – Carnival Red with Phantom Black, Caspian Blue with Storm Grey, and Phantom Black with Storm Grey.
The feature list on this motorcycle comprises full-LED lighting, a semi-digital instrument cluster, ride-by-wire throttle, a switchable traction control system, dual-channel ABS, and an anti-theft immobiliser as standard. Then, the mechanical specifications include a 398.15cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that delivers a maximum power and peak torque output of 39.5bhp at 8,000rpm and 37.5Nm at 6,500rpm, respectively.
