- Introductory price was valid till 31 December, 2023
- Costs Rs. 2.33 lakh (ex-showroom) now
The Triumph Speed 400 was launched in India in July this year at a cracker of a price tag - Rs 2.23 lakh. As much hype as the price tag created on the internet, the booking response was equally impressive, says Triumph India. However, that was the inaugural price tag and was bound to go up sooner or later. Now, after five months of the bike’s India launch, the introductory price of the Speed 400 has come to an end and it is pegged at Rs. 2.33 lakh (ex-showroom) starting today, 1 January, 2024.
This is Triumph’s smallest and newest offering belonging to its Speed family, which also includes 900cc and 1200cc offerings. Aesthetically, the Speed 400 has followed in the footsteps of its bigger siblings with a minimalistic, simple yet elegant design. It’s a quintessential modern-classic roadster with a round headlamp, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and a curvy tail section. Adding to its visual appeal are subtle elements like bar-end mirrors and golden USD forks.
Powering the motorcycle is a 398cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 39.5bhp and 37.5Nm and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. Underpinned by a hybrid spine/perimeter, tubular frame that rides on 17-inch wheels and is suspended by USD forks and a monoshock. The braking duties are handled by a single disc at both ends. As for the features, the package includes full LED lighting, a semi-digital instrument cluster, ride-by-wire throttle, a switchable traction control system, and dual-channel ABS.
