- All colours are priced the same
- Detuned engine makes less power and torque than the Speed 400
Triumph expanded its entry-level motorcycle portfolio recently by introducing the Speed T4 which is the brand’s most affordable offering. With a price tag of Rs. 2.17 lakh, ex-showroom, it is available in three different colour options.
The most stealthy-looking shade of the three is the Phantom Black which boasts blacked-out bodywork, engine and cycle parts with white and red decals on the fuel tank and side panels. For those who want it to look bolder, Triumph also retails a Metallic White paint scheme which comprises a white fuel tank and tail while the rest of the components are black. A Cocktail Red Wine trim with black and white decals is also on sale. We believe Triumph should’ve offered more variety in the colour palette of the Speed T4.
It is a more affordable version of the Speed 400 with a detuned engine. The T4’s 398.15cc, single-cylinder engine makes lesser power and torque in favour of better fuel efficiency and friendlier nature. Mated to a six-speed gearbox, this unit makes 30.6bhp and 36Nm. Even the hardware package is lower-spec with telescopic forks and non-radial MRF Zapper tyres. Plus, the traction control system has also been removed from the equation all of which has been done to make it more affordable than the Speed 400.
