Triumph Motorcycles has confirmed via its social media channels that it will update its portfolio with the launch of the new Speed Triple 1200 RS in the Indian market. The flagship roadster from the British brand will be launched in India on 28 January, 2021.
Apart from the launch date, the teaser video also showcased the updated headlight setup on the upcoming motorcycle. The new roadster will feature an angry-eye style headlamp setup that will be similar to the Street Triple RS. While Triumph Motorcycles has masked most of the styling details, spy photographs have revealed the design of the Speed Triple 1200 RS. The most noticeable styling update on the new model is the exhaust position. Unlike the old model, the new Speed Triple 1200 RS will get a compact, underbelly exhaust outlet. Other features on the new model will include a muscular fuel tank, bar-end mirrors, and a single-sided swingarm.
The mechanical specifications will undergo major changes and the new Speed Triple 1200 RS, as the name suggests, will pack a higher displacement than its predecessor. According to reports, the upcoming Speed Triple 1200 RS will come with a 1,160cc, inline three-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor. The old model, for reference, used a 1,050cc engine.
The motorcycle will be revealed on 26 January while the India launch, as mentioned above, will happen on 28 January, 2021.
