Triumph Motorcycles has issued a recall for its litre-class naked bike, the Speed Triple. The Speed Triple R and the S variants that have been manufactured between 2016 and 2017 have been affected by this recall.
As per the British manufacturer, the regulator lead for the charging system may rub against the ABS modular bracket. This could potentially lead to a short circuit. The company discovered this issue after there a surge in warranty repairs for this problem.
Triumph is in the process of contacting 541 affected owners and asking them to bring the bikes to the nearest service centre. The technicians will replace the affected wire and also reroute it to avoid contact with the bracket, free of charge. Triumph only sold the base variant of the Speed Triple in India. However, it failed to entice the market due to outdated design and features.
