The Triumph Speedmaster will be launched in India in April 2018. Speaking to BikeWale, Mr Vimal Sumbly, managing director, Triumph Motorcycles India, said that dealerships have started accepting bookings for the motorcycle.
The Triumph Speedmaster made its Indian debut at the 2017 India Bike Week, although the company stopped short of announcing the price. Mr Sumbly says that sales would commence as soon as the global production of motorcycle starts by the start of next financial year. However, those interested in purchasing the motorcycle can book one through any dealership.
The Speedmaster is the other cruiser in the Bonneville range of modern classic bikes, along witht the Bobber. While the Bobber is strictly a single seater, the Speedmaster for those who like to take a pillion and luggage. The Thunderbird is the next cruiser in Triumph's line-up, but hasn't enjoyed the success like the Bonneville range because of its high price tag. The Speedmaster, being relatively more affordable, is expected to increase Triumph's share in the cruiser segment.
