Just over a week ago, we told you Triumph is working on a mysterious new model called the Street Cup. The motorcycle from the British manufacturer was spotted in prototype form near their factory in England.
The Street Cup will likely be joining the Triumph line-up in 2017, since the name had leaked through an American emissions certificate. The Street Cup is expected to use the new 900cc motor used in the Street Twin, although it could be in a slightly higher state of tune, to give it a performance gain over the Street Twin, which makes 55bhp and 79Nm of torque.
This entry-level café racer will positioned below the Thruxton in Triumph’s range. The motorcycle will use the chassis and some of the body panels from the Street Twin. From what can be seen, the instrument cluster and the seat is from the Thruxton.
Other changes include a one-piece handlebar clamped on to the stock Street Twin risers. The bike also sports black-finished exhausts which are also styled to suit its café-race form. The front disc brake also appears to be a floating one with what looks to be a larger calliper.
The motorcycle will likely sit below the Thruxton in terms of pricing and will make its way to India soon after its international launch.
