Triumph Motorcycles India has introduced the Street Scrambler at Rs 8.1 lakhs (pan India). This rival to the Ducati Scrambler Urban is positioned between the Street Twin and the Bonneville T100 in the Triumph line-up.
Based on the Street Twin, this Scrambler is one beautifully crafted motorcycle. While the basic structure is the same, things like side-high mounted exhaust, off-road tyres, engine guard and the contoured seat makes the Street Scrambler look gorgeous. The seat is interchangeable too. The bike is also equipped with aluminium rack at the rear and removable pillion footpegs. The instrumentation on this Triumph is exactly like the one we see in the Bonneville range.
The power for the Street Scrambler comes from a 900cc parallel-twin motor. This engine produces 54bhp at 6000rpm and peak torque of 80Nm at 2850rpm. The company has re-tuned this motor to develop more torque at the low and mid revs. Gear box is six-speed. The Street Scrambler sports some technologies like ride-by-wire, switchable traction control and ABS. To take care of off-roading, the motorcycle is equipped with a 19-inch front-spoked wheel.
The bookings for this completely-knocked-down (CKD) motorcycle has already begun across the country. The deliveries is expected to commence from next month.
