India is going to get yet another Scrambler. But this time, it is coming from the United Kingdom. Triumph Motorcycles is likely to launch the Street Scrambler in India on 24 August. To be positioned above the Street Twin in its India line-up, the Street Scrambler will take on the Ducati Scrambler Urban. However, the pricing of this Triumph is expected to be quite competitive at around Rs 7.8 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
The Street Scrambler gets interchangeable pillion seat and aluminium rack with removable pillion pegs.
The Scrambler-styled exhaust is definitely a looker. There are guards to protect the rider’s foot from possible burns.
Switchable ABS and traction control system and ride-by-wire are some of the features that the bike is loaded with.
For long journeys, the bike is equipped with USB power socket to take care of phone charging.
The 900cc parallel-twin motor develops 54bhp at 6000rpm, 80Nm at 2850rpm. Gearbox is six-speed.
The chassis has been heavily revised. The bike gets longer rear shocks, a 19 inch front wheel, wide handlebars and a low seat.
Instrument cluster is exactly like the one on the Street Twin. Simple yet elegant.
