Triumph Motorcycles has introduced two limited-edition Scrambler models in the Indian market, the Scrambler 1200 Steve McQueen edition and the Street Scrambler Sandstorm. We have already brought you the top five highlights of the Triumph Scrambler 1200 Steve McQueen edition. Here we bring you the top highlights of the Street Scrambler Sandstorm.
Design
The limited-edition model, which is inspired by the original 1960s Scrambler desert racers, is based on the standard Triumph Street Scrambler. The Sandstorm, however, packs design elements such as a brushed alloy sump guard, a high front mudguard, and a new headlight bezel with a black grille. The feature list, similar to the standard model, includes a tall-set exhaust setup and split-style seats. The fuel tank features a triple-tone finish that looks appealing. The rubber pads on the fuel tank and the fork gaiters enhance the rugged design of the motorcycle. The motorcycle tips the weighing scale at 223kg, and boasts a seat height of 790mm.
Colours
The Triumph Street Scrambler Sandstorm is available in a single colour option – Sandstorm Matte Storm Grey paint.
Engine
The Sandstorm edition packs the same mechanical specifications as the standard Street Scrambler. The BS6-compliant 900cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine is tuned to deliver 64.1bhp of power at 7,250rpm and 80Nm of peak torque at 3,250rpm. The five-speed transmission benefits from an assist clutch function.
Hardware
The suspension setup on the motorcycle includes 41mm telescopic front forks and preload-adjustable twin-sided rear springs – both featuring 120mm of travel. The anchoring tasks are handled by a single 310mm disc with a Brembo four-piston fixed axial calliper at the front and a 255mm rotor with a Nissin two-piston floating calliper at the back. The safety net is provided by a dual-channel ABS. The 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoke wheels are wrapped in Metzeler Tourance tyres.
