Triumph has launched the Street Triple 765 in India at an introductory price of Rs 8.5 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. Bookings have commenced, and deliveries should begin by next week. The first variant will be the S, with 112bhp. That means some electronic aids, but not the full-fat RS version.
The new Street Triple 765 is lighter and more powerful compared to the outgoing 675, and the all-new engine means that the chassis also has changed to accomodate the new engine and its characteristics. The S also gets ABS, traction control, a quickshifter, and adjustable levers. The Street Triple 765 will spearhead the 'Make in India' campaign for Triumph India, and the ratio of the range will now be 90 per cent assembled in India.
