- Select dealerships accepting bookings
- Can be booked for Rs 1,00,000
- Launch likely to happen by end of this month or early July
Several Triumph Motorcycles dealerships have started to accept the bookings for the upcoming Street Triple R ahead of its India launch. The mid-spec model of the Street Triple family is expected to arrive on the Indian shores very soon, and we may hear a launch announcement by the end of this month, if not early July. Interested buyers can book the motorcycle for a token amount of Rs 1,00,000. The booking amount may vary.
The Street Triple R will compete in a relatively affordable price bracket than the Street Triple RS. The flagship model of the Street Triple family is currently priced at Rs 11.13 lakh, although Triumph Motorcycles India will revise its ex-showroom tag in July 2020.
We expect the ‘R’ variant to arrive close to the Rs 9 lakh price range. The motorcycle will compete against the BMW F 900 R, Yamaha MT-09, Kawasaki Z900, KTM 790 Duke and Ducati Monster 821.
The Euro5-compliant Street Triple R is already available in the international markets. The styling cues on the latest iteration of the motorcycle include twin LED headlamps with aggressive LED DRLs, redesigned tank shrouds and a sleek tail section. Mechanical specifications include a 765cc, inline three-cylinder engine that churns out 116bhp of maximum power and 77Nm of peak torque. Triumph Motorcycles claim that the new Euro 5-compliant engine gets improved responsiveness courtesy of a 7% reduction in rotational inertia.
The feature list comprises of a slip and assist clutch, quick shifter, semi-digital instrument cluster, three riding modes – Road, Sport, and Rain, traction control system, Showa-sourced suspension and Brembo callipers.
