Triumph Motorcycles has launched the Street Triple RS for the Indian market at Rs 10.55 lakhs (ex-showroom India).
This makes it the second Street Triple to be on sale in India after the S variant. The RS model gets all the features that the Street Triple S gets, but it also loaded with technology that makes it more powerful and fun. To start with, it gets Brembo M50 brake callipers at the front. Suspension duties are taken care of by a fully-adjustable Showa big piston front fork and Ohlins at the back. The Street Triple RS is also equipped with a quickshifter for fast and easy upshifts. The bike gets five riding modes; Sport, Road, Rain, Rider, and Track, which can be changed on the fly. The ABS is switchable and the traction control system is there to keep the rider out of sticky situations.
While the RS gets its power from the same 765cc inline three cylinder motor, it has been retuned to churn out more power at 121bhp and 77Nm of maximum torque. This mill is mated to a six-speed gearbox.
In order to differentiate this top-spec variant from the S, the British manufacturer has added a few cosmetic bits. The RS subframe gets a matt silver paint finish which looks good. It also gets a body-coloured belly pan and seat cowl.
The bookings for the Street Triple RS have already begun at all Triumph showrooms. It is available in two colors - silver and black. The deliveries of the Kawasaki Z900 rival will begin in the next few days. But unfortunately, the first lot have been sold out. The deliveries of the second lot will begin in February 2018.
