- Gets special paint scheme
- To be available for one year only
- Indian launch likely soon
Triumph Motorcycles has unveiled the limited edition variant of the Street Twin series. Christened as the Street Twin EC1, this edition of the retro-style motorcycle will be available for one year only. The new Triumph Street Twin EC1 Special Edition is inspired by the vibrant custom-classic motorcycle culture of London’s East End – particularly the historic streets of EC1. This London postcode has given this motorcycle its name.
The styling cues on the Street Twin EC1 comprise a Matt Aluminium Silver and Matt Silver Ice scheme that is further complemented by dedicated graphics and decals across the tank and side panels. The company will also offer a Matt Silver Ice fly screen as an accessory to match the EC1 Special Edition’s paint scheme.
The mechanical specifications retain the Euro5-compliant 900cc, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine that produces 64.1bhp of power at 7,500rpm and 80Nm of peak torque at 3,800rpm. The motor is linked to a five-speed gearbox that benefits from a torque assist clutch. The braking hardware on the motorcycle comprises a single 310mm disc with Brembo four-piston calliper at the front and a single 255mm rotor with a Nissin two-piston calliper at the rear.
This limited-edition variant of the motorcycle will be available in the Indian market. Triumph Motorcycles India has listed this model as “Coming Soon” on its website. Expect this variant to carry a price premium over the standard motorcycle’s Rs 8.25 lakh (ex-showroom) tag.
