Triumph Motorcycles India has updated its portfolio with the launch of the new Street Twin EC1 Special Edition. This new variant of the Street Twin series, which features styling upgrades over the standard motorcycle, will be available for a limited period. Here we list the top five highlights of the new Triumph Street Twin EC1.
Styling
The new Triumph Street Twin EC1 draws inspiration from the custom-classic motorcycle culture of London’s East End, particularly the streets of EC1, the London postcode which gives this variant its name. The EC1 variant is distinguished from the standard motorcycle through its special paint theme and graphics. The Street Twin CE1 features a Matte Aluminium Silver and Matte Silver Ice fuel tank along with hand-painted silver coach lining, dedicated new EC1 graphics, and the Triumph badge.
The custom scheme is also visible on the side panels that get the Matte Silver Ice paint and Street Twin Limited Edition graphics. Furthermore, both front and rear mudguards get a Matte Aluminium Silver finish. Other styling elements unique to the EC1 Special Edition variant include black 10-spoke wheels, a black headlamp cowl, black-finished mirrors, and black signature-shaped engine covers. Triumph Motorcycles will offer a Matte Silver Ice fly screen as an optional extra to further enhance the aesthetics of the Street Twin EC1.
Engine
The changes to the Street Twin EC1 Special Edition are limited to the styling upgrades. The mechanical specifications, on the other hand, remain identical to the standard Street Twin, and the EC1 variant continues to use a BS6-compliant, 900cc, twin-cylinder engine. Linked to a five-speed gearbox, the motor is tuned to produce 64.1bhp of maximum power at 7,500rpm and 80Nm of peak torque at 3,800rpm.
Hardware
Similar to the mechanical specifications, the hardware on the Street Twin EC1 remains identical to the standard Street Twin. Thus, the suspension tasks are handled by 41mm cartridge front forks and preload-adjustable twin rear shocks. The braking duties are handled by single discs on both wheels. The alloy wheels are shod in Pirelli Phantom Sports Comp tyres.
Features
The standard equipment on the new Street Twin EC1 includes an under-seat USB charger and an immobiliser incorporated into the key. The motorcycle uses a semi-digital instrument cluster that comprises an analogue speedometer and a digital rev counter and menu system. Rider can toggle through the menu through the handlebar mounted scroll button. The safety net comprises a dual-channel ABS, traction control system, and two riding modes (Rain and Road).

The new Triumph Street Twin EC1 will be available for a limited period. Triumph Motorcycles will produce this special edition motorcycle for one year only. It has been priced at Rs 8,85,000 as against Rs 8,25,000 for the standard model.
