- Sports a retro semi-fairing
- Features modern-retro café racer styling
- India launch soon
The upcoming Triumph Thruxton 400 has been spied testing for the first time in India. The motorcycle was seen undergoing tests near Bajaj’s factory in Pune. The café racer is expected to be launched soon in India.
This Thruxton 400 will share its underpinnings and most of its cycle parts with the Triumph Speed 400. The motorcycle features a beautiful retro-shaped semi-fairing, which should add visual mass to its design. It also gets clip-on handlebars for a sportier rider’s triangle and a pillion seat cowl to complete the café racer styling.
As for its engine, the Triumph Thruxton 400 will be powered by a 399cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that churns out 39.5bhp and 37.5Nm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox. The engine is known for its refinement, tractability, and excellent mid-range punch.
The suspension duties will be handled by upside-down front forks and a preload adjustable monoshock. Presently, the Triumph Speed 400 retails at Rs 2.40 lakh while the Scrambler 400X is priced at Rs 2.65 lakh. The Thruxon 400 is likely to be positioned between the two and could cost at around Rs. 2.50 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.
