Over four months after the motorcycle made its Indian debut, the Triumph Thruxton R is going to be launched in India tomorrow. The flagship model in the British manufacturer’s modern classic line-up, the Thruxton R will share the market space with the Ducati Monster 1200 and the Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight.
The Thruxton R's imposing stance and classic styling represents the remarkable evolution of the iconic cafe racers of the bygone era. The round chrome-rimmed headlamp, low-slung clip-ons, bar-end mirrors and the sculpted fuel tank give the Thruxton R its familiar look. The twin upswept Vance & Hines exhausts are finished in chrome and sing a high bass exhaust note to suit the Thruxton R's character.
Based on a brand new platform, the Thruxton R is powered by a 1,200cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine which is rated at 112Nm of torque. While the overall styling harks back to the original café racer motorcycles of the yesteryears, rider assists including ABS, traction control, rider modes and slip-assist clutch give it a modern edge. The Thruxton R comes with Showa USD forks and Ohlins dual spring suspension, which make it a true performer.
To bump up its retro appeal, the Triumph Thruxton R will be available with a host of customisation options, including three ‘Inspiration Kits’. Though Triumph dealers had started accepting bookings for the motorcycle a while ago, deliveries are expected to commence a few weeks from now.
