Triumph Motorcycles will launch the Thunderbird LT, a new cruiser motorcycle in India tomorrow. The British motorcycle manufacturer will widen its Indian portfolio of motorcycles by adding this bike to the current range of 11 motorcycles.
The Thunderbird LT is a cruiser bike similar to the Thunderbird Storm, on sale, in India now. As the name suggests, LT stands for light touring meaning the motorcycle will feature a lot touring accessories like a large windscreen, auxiliary spot lamps, a backrest for the pillion and detachable leather saddle bags with a storage space of about 21 litres. Tourers would be happy to know that the bike gets a large tank of 21.9 litres enabling them to travel long distances without many fuel stops. The motorcycle will be embellished with chrome to set it apart from the Thunderbird Storm.
The Triumph Thunderbird LT will be powered by the same mill as seen on the Thunderbird Storm. This means, the 1699cc liquid-cooled, DOHC, parallel-twin engine will power the LT. This motor produces 94bhp of power and 146Nm of torque and comes mated to a six-speed transmission.
The Triumph Thunderbird LT might be priced in the range of Rs 15 lakh to Rs 16 lakh(Ex-Showroom New Delhi). The motorcycle is expected to be offered in two colour options like caspian blue/crystal white and lava red/phantom black.
