Triumph has announced that the Tiger 800 XRx and the Tiger 800 XCx adventure motorcycles are going to be launched in India on March 12.
Triumph had first unveiled the Tiger 800 XRx and the Tiger 800 XCx at the India Bike Week, last month, though the company had withheld the prices of the two models. While both the models are mechanically similar to the standard Tiger 800, they come loaded with technological wizardry. The electronics package on the Tiger 800 XRx and the XCx includes a traction control system and switchable ABS.
Both the models are built around the same tall frame from the Tiger and employ a triple-cylinder 800cc engine, which produces 95bhp and 79Nm of torque. The engine also gets ride-by-wire for a smoother power delivery and better throttle response. Both the models get a segment-first cruise control and three riding mode settings. The engine has also been tweaked to improve its fuel efficiency and reduce emissions.
While the Tiger 800 XRx is a dual-sport adventure touring motorcycle, the Tiger 800 XCx is a proper off-roader. The Tiger 800 XCx goes up against the BMW F650, while the Tiger 800 XRx rivals other bigger adventure touring motorcycles like the Kawasaki Versys 1000 and the Suzuki V-Strom 1000.
