- Triumph Tiger 850 Sport priced at Rs 11.95 lakh (ex-showroom)
- Gets same engine with different tune
- Goes up against the BMW F750GS
Triumph Motorcycles has launched the Tiger 850 Sport in India at Rs 11.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
This pricing makes it the most-affordable model in the Tiger range as it costs Rs 1.75 lakh lesser than the Tiger 900 GT. It comes powered by a 888cc, inline-three cylinder engine like the other models. However, the motor has been retuned to churn out 84bhp at 8,500rpm and 82Nm of torque at 6,500. This is substantially lower than the 93.9bhp and 86.7Nm offered on the rest of the range.
Nevertheless, the Triumph Tiger 850 GT rides on Marzochhi-sourced suspension at both ends and top-of the line Brembo Stylema brakes at the front. As for features, it comes with a five-inch full colour display, two riding modes- Road and Rain along with switchable traction control, full-LED lighting and a USB charging port.
In terms of competition, the Tiger 850 Sport goes up against the BMW F750 GS in India. It is offered in two colours- Graphite & Diablo Red, and Graphite & Caspian Blue.
