- New Tiger 850 Sport under development
- Based on Tiger 900
- Will go against BMW F900XR
Triumph has been talking about their new entry-level motorcycle, the Trident a lot these days. But the company is silently working on a host of new bikes including a new Tiger 850 Sport.
This upcoming bike is based on the new Tiger 900 this will be mostly road oriented. The Tiger Sport range of motorcycles carry a different design language as compared to the Tiger 900. So expect this new Triumph to follow the same route. The fascia is expected to carry a big fairing that will house a twin-headlamp setup. There will be a big windscreen as well. The riding ergonomics will be comfortable but could have a sporty feel to it.
In terms of mechanicals, the new Tiger 850 Sport will use the same engine that we see on the Tiger 900. That means it will churn out 94bhp of peak power at 8750rpm. The torque too, will remain similar. The bike is also likely to get a host of latest gadgets to make it more aspirational.
Once launched, this new Triumph Tiger 850 Sport will go against the BMW F900XR which was launched in India few months ago. Unfortunately, the Tiger Sport brand never made its way to India. But expect the Indian arm of the British brand to bring it next year due to the presence of its BMW rival.
