Triumph updated its Tiger 900 range earlier this year and offered notable updates to the GT and the Rally Pro variants. While we have already spent time with the Tiger 900 GT, it was now time to ride the Rally Pro, and here is how it went.
The first and most evident aspect you will notice about the Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro is its size. Unlike its GT sibling, which feels small for a 900cc motorcycle, this one feels properly big and is a true-blue ADV.
Its styling is exactly what you would expect on a large-capacity bike that can not only munch miles but is also ready to jump off-road and ride on broken patches. It's interesting to see how the Tiger 900 Rally Pro’s rugged nature has been paired with its sharp styling, comprising the front portion housing the split LED headlight and the visor.
Triumph has also loaded the Tiger 900 Rally Pro with an array of features. It gets ride modes, TPMS, traction control, ABS modes, a bi-directional quickshifter, heated seats, heated grips, and more. However, the area where Triumph could do better in terms of features is the TFT. It is not only slow while booting up but also has a noticeable lag when operating. This gets annoying after a while.
Powering the Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro is an 888cc inline three-cylinder motor that makes 106.5 bhp and 90Nm. It is linked to a six-speed gearbox. On the performance front, the Tiger 900 Rally Pro has a spritely character. It comes to life straight from 2,000 rpm and gets wilder post 5,000 rpm. Once you let the taps open, the 900 Rally Pro’s sporty side gets profound and even more fun.
Even in terms of handling, the Tiger 900 Rally Pro is as solid as it gets. The bike, even with its long-travel suspension and 21-inch front wheel, feels quite nimble and makes it a treat to ride around fast-flowing corners. You will only notice its heft and height when taking U-turns or riding around hairpin bends at slow speeds.
If you want to know whether the Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro is worth the Rs. 16.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) asking price, we recommend you read our full review.
