- Pre-bookings open for a token amount of Rs 50,000
- Indian launch details unavailable yet
- Will rival the Kawasaki Versys 650 and Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT in India
Triumph Motorcycles India has commenced the pre-bookings for its upcoming, middleweight, adventure-style sports-tourer motorcycle, the Tiger Sport 660 ahead of its launch. Interested buyers can reserve a unit of this upcoming motorcycle by paying Rs 50,000. While the Indian arm of the British two-wheeler maker has commenced the pre-bookings for the Tiger Sport 660, it has remained tight-lipped about its launch details. We expect to see this motorcycle in our market by the end of this month or early January 2022.
The new Tiger Sport 660 is already available in select international markets. The company has also listed the motorcycle on its India website since October 2021. This new product from Triumph Motorcycles, which will soon become the most affordable Tiger in the Indian market, is based on the Trident 660 roadster. However, the Tiger Sport 660 features an all-new design, a different sub-frame and a longer travel suspension setup to enhance its touring capabilities.
The styling cues on the new Tiger Sport 660 include a semi-fairing and tall windscreen at the front, a step-up saddle, integrated pannier mounts, and an underbelly exhaust. The feature list comprises full-LED lighting, a Bluetooth-ready instrument cluster, two riding modes (Road and Rain), a switchable traction control, and ABS.
The mechanical specifications are similar to the Trident 660, and the Tiger Sport 660, too, uses a 660cc, inline-three cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. Linked to a six-speed transmission, the motor is tuned to deliver 80bhp of power at 10,250rpm and 64Nm of peak torque at 6,250rpm. This new product from Triumph Motorcycles will rival the likes of Kawasaki Versys 650 and the Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT in the Indian market.
