Triumph launched the most affordable Tiger in India in the form of the Sport 660. It’s priced at Rs 8.95 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and essentially based on the Trident 660 but dons a different attire and some minor tweaks to the geometry. While it’s the most affordable Tiger, the asking price is still quite high and there are a bunch of other bikes too available for a similar price range? Here's the list.
Suzuki V-strom 650 XT
First of five alternatives that we listed down for the Triumph Tiger Sport 660 is the Suzuki V-strom 650 XT. It’s the most affordable ADV from Suzuki and retails at Rs 8,88,030 (ex-showroom Delhi). You get a 645cc V-twin motor that dishes out 69.7bhp and 62 Nm. The safety net comprises ABS and traction control system too. Moreover, the V-strom 650 XT gets a large 20-litre fuel tank, which means long hauls would be comparatively easier.
Kawasaki Z900
Packing a few more cc(s) than the Tiger Sport 660 and a whole lot more ponies, the Kawasaki Z900 could also be an option against the Triumph ADV. Its asking price is set to Rs 8.84,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) and gets an inline-four 948cc motor that pumps 123.64bhp and 98.6 Nm. That’s 43bhp more than the Tiger while costing Rs 11,000 less. Not just that, the screaming Kwacker also packs a whole of tech as well. From a Bluetooth-compatible TFT screen to traction control, riding modes and power modes, all included.
Triumph Street Scrambler
One from Triumph’s portfolio, the Street Scrambler too is an alternative to the Tiger Sport 660. It’s priced at Rs 9.35 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) onwards and comes with a 900cc parallel-twin motor belting out 64.1bhp and 80 Nm. It gets spoked wheels wrapped in dual-purpose rubber which are well suited for when you want to play in the mud. Not to mention, its electronic suite includes three riding modes, traction control and ABS.
Honda CBR650R
If you are open to sports tourers, then the Honda CBR650R also makes for a sensible offering at the ballpark price of the Tiger Sport 660. It retails at Rs 9,35,427 (ex-showroom Gurugram). Honda has plonked in an inline four-cylinder 648.72cc engine and tuned it to develop 85.82bhp and 57.5 Nm. The CBR650R resembles to its litre-class sibling and howls quite a meaty exhaust note too!
Ducati Scrambler Icon
Last but not least, the most affordable Ducati too has made it to the list. The Ducati Scrambler Icon is priced at Rs 8.88 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and comes with an 803cc L-Twin motor that churns out 73bhp and 66.2 Nm. Apart from an LCD instrument console, the Ducati Scrambler gets cornering ABS as the only safety net.
