Triumph Motorcycles India recently launched the Tiger 800 range in India starting at Rs 11.76 lakhs for the XR variant. If you are on a budget similar to the Tiger 800 XR’s price tag you could have a look at four other motorcycles. Here is what else you can buy at the price of a Triumph Tiger XR.
If you want an adventure tourer similar to the Tiger 800 XR, you could look at its competitor, the BMW F750GS which is priced at Rs 12.2 lakhs. Like the Tiger 800 XR, the F750GS is more of a long distance tourer than off-road motorcycle and sports alloy wheels shod with road-biased tyres. The bike uses an 853cc parallel-twin engine that produces 75bhp and 47Nm of torque.
You could also have a more powerful tourer in the form of the Ducati SuperSport. The bike has a fascia that is similar to the Panigale, a rear section borrowed from the Monster and an engine from the Hypermotard. This 937cc, L-twin engine produces 109bhp and 96.7Nm of torque. The Ducati SuperSport will set you back by Rs 12.04 lakhs.
From Triumph’s modern classic stables is the Thruxton R. The bike sports a half-fairing, round headlamp, seat cowl, dual upswept exhausts and spoke wheels that boost its café racer appeal. It is powered by a 1200cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that produces 96bhp and 112Nm of torque. It is priced at Rs 11.30 lakhs.
Also on offer is the Indian Scout Bobber priced at Rs 12.37 lakhs. Based on the standard Scout, the Bobber derives its styling cues from the bobber motorcycles of the ‘50s. However, the Scout Bobber sports a dark theme all-through, with the matte black exhaust, wheels and frame complemented by a contrasting chrome outline for the engine. It is powered by a 1133cc V-twin engine that produces 100bhp and 97Nm of torque.
