Triumph Motorcycles seems to be optimistic about the market potential of the Tiger 800 as it is readying six new versions of the adventure motorcycle to be introduced in 2015. The six new trims will include hard core adventure-based motorcycles as well as road-going touring versions.
Papers filed with the California Air Research Board as well as some other documents show the existence of new trim levels- XR, XRX and XRT (XR Touring), XC, XCX and XCA (XC Adventure). The XC models will all get with WP suspensions with a longer travel and spoke wheels as opposed to the XR’s shorter suspension and alloys.
The new models are expected to get electronic updates like ABS, traction control, ride-by-wire as well as updated riding modes. The new Tiger models will also boast 15 per cent better fuel economy and reduced emission figures.
As the papers have already been filed, we can be pretty sure that these motorcycles are production ready. We expect to get the first glimpse of these at the 2014 EICMA Show in Milan, next month. The British manufacturer is also expected to showcase the entire range of its updated 2015 models at the show
