The Triumph Street Triple 765 will be launched for the Indian market on June 12. We are expecting the manufacturer to only introduce the S variant at the moment and later bring in the R and RS variants too.
The 2017 Street Triple continues to bring in a unique proposition in the middle-weight street segment of motorcycles. In its latest iteration, the motorcycle boasts of new body work and a sporty twin-seat design. The main frame, sub frame and the swing arm get a black powder-coated finish. The bike also sports new LED position light bulb headlamps.
In terms of features, the Triumph Street Triple gets a fully revised LCD instrument pack as seen on the latest-gen Speed Triple. This screen allows the rider to select different riding modes, while on the move or at a standstill. Then, he can also access key information from the on-board computer, which includes the odometer, trip meter, fuel gauge and the journey distance amongst other readings.
The new Street Triple’s S trim derives power from a three-cylinder 765cc, DOHC, in-line mill that churns out 111.5bhp of total power and 73Nm of total torque. This liquid-cooled, 12 valve engine comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.
The 2017 Triumph Street Triple is a naked roadster which we expect will be locally assembled in India. If priced at around Rs 8-9 lakhs, it will rival the Kawasaki Z900, the DSK Benelli TNT 899 and the upcoming Ducati Monster 797 in our country.
