India is going to see a fast and agile motorcycle tomorrow, thanks to Triumph Motorcycles. The British manufacturer will finally introduce the Street Triple RS in the country.
Triumph currently sells the Street Triple S model in India, which is a mid-spec motorcycle. There’s a standard variant too for the global markets, but the company didn’t get this model to India. The RS is the top-spec model which gets all the bells and whistles.
The 765cc inline-triple cylinder motor delivers 121bhp and 77Nm of peak torque, which is more than the S variant. Gearbox is the same six-speed. Other than the increase in power, the Street Triple RS is equipped with top of the line components. It gets the Brembo M50 brake calipers at the front, fully-adjustable Show big piston front fork and Ohlins at the back. This model also gets quickshifter for easy upshifts and five riding modes, sport, road, rain, rider and track. The ABS is switchable and the traction control system is there to keep the rider safe from sticky situation. There are few cosmetic additions to this model as well. The RS subframe gets a matt silver paint finish which does look good on the bike. It also gets body-coloured bellypan and seat cowl.
We’re expecting Triumph to launch the Street Triple RS in just one paint scheme for now. Triumph will definitely demand a lot for this bike over the S variant. We’re expecting a price tag of around Rs 10.5 lakh. Once launched, the RS variant will compete with the Kawasaki Z900, Aprilia Shiver 900 and the very expensive, the MV Agusta Brutale 800.
