Triumph Motorcycles has announced that they will be launching a new motorcycle in India on September 18. Our sources have confirmed that the British motorcycle manufacturer will bring the Thunderbird LT to the Indian market.
Thunderbird LT, as the name suggests, LT stands for light touring making the company rightly put forth the motorcycle as a cruiser bike. The bike is expected to get a whole load of touring accessories like a large windscreen, auxiliary spot lamps, a backrest for the pillion and detachable leather saddle bags with a storage space of about 21 litres. With a large tank of 21.9 litres, travelling for long distances wouldn't be much of a worry. The motorcycle is expected to be laden with chrome to set it apart from the Thunderbird Storm.
The Thunderbird LT is expected to be powered by the same engine as the Thunderbird Storm. This means, the 1699cc liquid-cooled, DOHC, parallel-twin mill will be seen on the LT that churns out 94bhp of power and 146Nm of torque. This motor will come mated to a six-speed transmission.
Triumph Motorcycles India will widen its Indian portfolio of motorcycles by adding the Thunderbird LT to its existing range of motorcycles. The Thunderbird LT may be available in two colour options like caspian blue/crystal white and lava red/phantom black. The motorcycle might be priced in the range of Rs 15 lakh to Rs 16 lakh(Ex-Showroom New Delhi).
