- Street Scrambler, Street Twin could get new names
- Street branding could be dropped
- Scrambler 900, Speed Twin will be name names
Triumph Motorcycles is planning to rename two of its motorcycles – the Street Scrambler and the Street Twin.
According to a leaked document, the British brand is will rename the Street Scrambler to Scrambler 900 and the Street Twin to the Speed Twin. The brand has filed these name change requests in the Australian market. But the motorcycles will likely get new names for the world market.
Triumph may have decided to rename these bikes to get in line with its 1200cc siblings – the Scrambler 1200 and the Speed Twin. Post these changes, the Street Triple will be the only motorcycle that will have the ‘Street’ branding it. The company had also changed the branding of Tiger Explorer to Tiger 1200 a few years ago.
We can expect the official name change to take place worldwide in the next few months. Once that happens, the Indian market will also see new names for these bikes.
