- New Rocket 3 to be unveiled in India on December 5
- Powered by a new 2500cc inline-three cylinder engine
- Likely to be priced close to Rs 23 lakhs
Triumph Motorcycles will unveil the next-generation Rocket 3 in India on December 5. The company has released a teaser image on its social media channels.
This unveil will take place just a day before the commencement of India Bike Week 2019. The Rocket 3 brand is known for its overall body proportions along with the engine displacement. The Indian market is known to love such motorcycles, and it looks like the British maker is betting big on this launch.
This Triumph gets its power from a 2500cc inline-three cylinder engine which produces a whopping 165bhp of power and a 221Nm of torque. This motorcycle is available in two variants - Rocket 3 R and the 3 GT. The former weighs 291kg whereas the the Rocket 3 GT is slightly heavier with a dry weight of 294kg. In terms of cycle parts, the bikes use fully adjustable 47mm upside-down forks and a remote preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear; all sourced from Showa. Meanwhile, braking is done by Brembo callipers with dual 320mm discs in the front and a single 300mm disc at the rear. When it comes to equipment, the Rocket 3 has enough. It is equipped with Bluetooth-enabled full-colour TFT dash along with four ride modes, a traction control system, cornering ABS and hill-hold control.
We are expecting a price tag of close to Rs 23 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the new Rocket 3. There’s a high chance that the company would only bring the Rocket 3 R to India.
