Triumph is all set to introduce their new Bonneville range in India, less than three months after it was globally unveiled in the UK. The Bonneville range of modern classic motorcycles, which also includes the Thruxton and the Street Twin, will make its debut at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi, on February 4.
Featuring new chassis, engine and other technological updates, the new Bonneville range has been comprehensively updated to make it the perfect epitome of a ‘modern classic’. The Bonneville, which is now powered by a 1200cc liquid-cooled engine, is no longer the entry-level model for the brand. This position is now occupied by the new Street Twin model, which is offered with an 899cc liquid-cooled unit. The Thruxton, which employs a similar but more powerful version of the same 1200cc powertrain, continues to be the top of the line model in the modern classic range.
While the Street Twin is available in a single variant, the Bonneville and the Thruxton are offered in multiple trims. Triumph also offers these models with a special ‘Inspiration kit’, which allows customers to customise the motorcycles according to their taste. It is not yet clear whether Triumph will offer these optional extras right away though we can safely expect them to be launched here eventually. The new Bonneville range is likely to retail in the Rs 7 lakh - Rs 10 lakh price bracket.
