- Trident 660 recalled over side-stand issues
- Stand could bend over time
- Wrong material was used to make it
Triumph Motorcycle has recalled a few units of the Trident 660 in USA. The recall is related to the side-stand of the motorcycle.
According to the recall notice, the side-stand could bend over time which could make the bike become unstable and tip over. This could happen over a period of time as the bike would continue to lean further before tipping over completely. The third-party supplier used incorrect raw material to manufacture these side stands.
A total of 314 units of the Trident have been affected by this recall. These bikes were manufactured between 7th February 2021 and 15th May 2021. The company said that the rest of the new motorcycles didn’t have this issue.
The Trident 660 is currently the highest selling Triumph bike in India. But as of now, the brand hasnt issued a recall notice for the Indian market.
Update: We received an update from Triumph India. Trident 660s in India are also being recalled over this issue. We are waiting to get the exact number of units that are part of India recall.
