We recently got our hands on Triumph’s most affordable motorcycle- the Trident 660. While you can read all about our experience in the expert reviews section, here we bring to you a few pictures and details of the motorcycle from our first ride.
The Triumph Trident 660 has a simplistic styling compared to its rival, the Kawasaki Z650 and sports clean and striking lines all over. While it does belong to the middleweight category, the Trident manages to exude a big bike feel.
It also offers good space for larger riders with a large fuel tank and knee recesses. The seat is accommodating as well, enhancing the overall experience of comfort.
In terms of features, the Triumph Trident is well equipped. To begin with, it comes with full-LED lighting for the headlamp and tail lamp. It even boasts of self-canceling indicators.
Then there are the two ride modes- Road and Rain, a switchable traction control system, and throttle-by-wire. The Trident is also equipped with a TFT instrument cluster that can be fitted with an optional Bluetooth module which allows access to turn-by-turn navigation as well as phone, music and GoPro controls.
Coming to the motor, the Trident 660 uses a 660cc, inline-three engine that is extremely likable. It churns out 79.8bhp and 64Nm and delivers in such a manner that there’s grunt available all through the rev range. With strong mid and top-end, the Trident can reach a top-speed of a little over 200kmph easily.
As we found out during the ride, the Trident does have vibrations over 7500rpm but it was limited only to the handgrips.
The Trident 660’s low kerb weight and easy riding position, making it extremely easy to tip into corners. While the ride is slightly on the stiffer side, it enables the rider to have a sporty experience.
The Triumph Trident 660 checks a lot of boxes. It is accessible. It is friendly. It gets a motor that churns out really good performance along with a thrilling and fun riding experience.
