Triumph Motorcycles is on an update spree. After the Bonneville and the Speed Triple test mules that were spied testing, a prototype of the Trophy touring motorcycle has been doing the rounds in Europe.
The spied test mule featured a tubular steel handlebar instead of the usual cast aluminium. Other than this, there aren’t any changes on the motorcycle. Interestingly, there is a metal extension on its tailpipe, making us believe that the British motorcycle manufacturer is tweaking the engine to meet the Euro 4 emission norms.
The Indian arm of Triumph Motorcycles sells bikes ranging from Adventure to Classics to Roadsters. However, the only motorcycle range missing from its product portfolio is the Touring. The company sells three Touring motorcycles globally – the Sprint GT SE, Trophy and the Trophy SE. While there has never been a major market for such types of motorcycles, we believe Triumph will launch one of these bikes in India as a completely-built-up (CBU) to test the waters. If it works out, we are sure Triumph will bring the entire range, like it has done for its other motorcycles.
