- Triumph unveils Bonneville T100, T120 Bud Ekins special edition models
- Feature a host of exclusive cosmetic elements
- Remain identical to the standard models in terms of hardware
Triumph has unveiled the ‘Bud Ekins’ especial edition models of its modern-classic duo, the Bonneville T100 and the T120, at the 2019 EICMA show in Milan. With these offering, the British bike maker has paid tribute to the iconic Hollywood stuntman and off-road racer, Bud Ekins.
While these models are based on the standard T100 and T120, Triumph has adorned them with a few elements which make them exclusive. First up, there’s a two-tone paint scheme which is a combination of red and black shade. This is added by a Californian ‘flying globe’ Bud Ekins logo on the fuel tank, front fender and side panels. Both bikes also feature a Monza fuel cap, LED turn indicators, special ‘Triumph’ badge on the crank case along with bar end mirrors similar to the Thruxton cafe racer. Interestingly, each owner of the motorcycle will also get a certificate of authenticity which also includes full story of Bud Ekins.
Besides the aforementioned changes, both bikes remain similar to their standard counterparts. While the Bonneville T100 is powered by a 900cc, twin cylinder motor, the T120 features a larger 1200cc powerplant. Staying true to their retro theme, both bikes ride on spoke wheels with a diameter of 18-inch up front and 17-inch at the rear. Moreover, the motorcycles also share similar suspension and braking set up.
The Bud Ekins edition of the Bonneville T100 and the T120 will be available in the international markets soon. We can also expect Triumph to allot a few units of the bikes for the Indian market which may come sometime next year.
