Triumph Tiger XRx has been unveiled at the IBW 2015. The XRx is the top-spec variant of the Tiger series. The motorcycle was unveiled internationally last year and Triumph India seems to be in no mood to waste any time to bring it here.
The Tiger XRx is powered by the same three-pot, 800cc engine producing 94bhp and 79Nm of torque. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox that it shares with the Street Triple and gets the selector from the Daytona. It gets an ABS system that can be switched off completely and gets two adjustments – road and off-road.
It gets a 43mm Showa USD fork, now anodised black at the front and the rear suspension includes a Showa monoshock which is adjustable in preload for 2-up touring. The wheels are made of cast aluminum and it gets 19-inch at the front and 17-inch at the rear. It also gets a ride by wire throttle and is available with a mainstand.
Although Triumph has just unveiled the XRx at the India Bike Week, we expect the launch to happen sooner, possibly in March. We aren’t sure of the pricing, we expect it to be priced about Rs 2-2.5 lakh higher than the Tiger. At that price the Tiger XRx has the company of the Kawasaki Versys and the Suzuki V-Strom.
